Can a SIP phone put you in the movies?
Well, it can certainly help make a movie!
Like many good movies this starts with a flashback. You see, I wasn't expecting very much from my SIP phone. My Dad, who is the gadget-y person in our family, bought a SIP phone for my sisters and I this autumn. Since we all live in different states and paid for DSL anyway it made a lot of sense. To my surprise it was super-easy to set up and I've used it a lot. We collectively refer to it jokingly as "the bat phone" -- like in Batman. The secret phone. The signal.
So to my delight "the bat phone" has been useful when it comes to talking with people outside my family, too. Its played a crucial role when collaborating with my friend Natt, who lives in London.
You see, my friend Natt is a writer. Natt's screenplay, "The Crossing" recently won the Nisi Masa European screenplay contest, a contest that solicits entries on the theme of political borders and the global-village. The prize? Money to make his screenplay into a short movie.
Enter: the SIP phone. Cue triumphant, hero soundtrack.
Natt downloaded the SIP software on his PC and uses a headset mic. I use "the bat phone" and somehow -- somehow -- the communication works. As they say, the film should be finished and "in the can" late this summer. The SIP phone played a crucial role.

A Case Study in Viral Marketing
...It should have been over at that point, but it wasn't. Pete came along.
That is not his real name, but it is what he calls himself in this country.
Pete is a very talented young man. He works in home repair and can fix or
build just about anything. He is quiet, hardworking and honest. He is from
Uruguay and supports his family by working here and sending money home. He
has a teenaged daughter and a son he has never seen.
Pete was working at my house one day and saw me using the sipphone. He
asked me about it and I explained, as best I could.
Through Pete I met a whole community of other Uruguayans who work in this
country and want to communicate with friends and loved ones at home. Most
of them spend a great deal of money on phone cards and the sipphone is a
godsend. It is significantly cheaper for them to pay for DSL for their
relatives than to pay for phone cards. I cannot imagine a better way to
spend some of my spare time than helping these folks talk to their friends
and families.

i live in Egypt and I fall in love with some girl living in Colorado,
USA we didn't have enough money to buy ticket and be with each other so we spent long time on pc together though we wanted to much to hear each other voice it give us hope and make us so happy though we needed to save as much we can to buy the tickets and get to be together so we thought about SIPphoneit was the best idea we can spend as much time we want on phone and don't have to spend as much as before and we almost didn't have to be on pc we spent longer time on SIPphone more than we spent on pc before it's a great thing and I suggest everyone buy it É to cut down the bills or to spend longer time with people he care about and they far away

What do you do if your son lives in Germany, and you live in Denmark.
Pick up the normal phone every day and make hour long calls ??? The phone company loves it !!Try and buy 2 Sipphones, do the calls and the price of the phones break even with the phone bill in a week.
