Web Developer
Under the general direction of the Product Development Manager, the Web Developer manages the implementation of web designs, application designs, general maintenance of the website and integration of new technologies to further corporate objectives and increase customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Design, build, manage and maintain search-engine friendly company websites and web pages (including language-localized pages) using web standards and back-end scripting where necessary
- Work with in-house graphic designer to ensure fresh, dynamic, brand-consistent updates to website in accordance with company standards
- Build, post and email customer newsletters, working with database engineers to ensure best-practice subscription handling
- Specify and develop first-class e-commerce experience for domestic and International customers in concert with engineering team
- Contribute to web application UI design
- Interface with engineering team as necessary to accomplish marketing/web site objectives
- Ensure robust web analytics are in place; provide analysis and recommendations
- Create unique content to promote company's product(s) across the Internet
- Design and develop new web functionality as necessary to optimize customer experience, analyze behavior and promote customer loyalty
- Identify, research and interface with outside vendors as necessary
- Interface with other 3rd parties or partners as necessary to further corporate goals
Employment Standards
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Required Knowledge
- Strong knowledge and skills in CSS/HMTL, and other popular web technologies
- Knowledge of Javascript
- Hands-on experience with Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Dreamweaver (or equivalent), and other web-creative software tools
- Experience integrating dynamic data feeds and database content into web pages.
Required Experience
3 - 5 years experience as web developer. Strong 'hands-on' experience with design and development of websites for Internet-based consumer businesses.
Other Requirements:
Extremely detail-oriented, creative, dependable and trustworthy, with positive and inquisitive attitude
Desired Skills
- A background in developing websites for Internet-based consumer software companies is highly preferred
- Experience with Flash a plus
- Experience with web content management systems (CMS) a plus
- Experience with PHP, Perl, XML/XSL, MXML, and WAML a plus
- Technical documentation & copy-editing skills a plus
Perl Developer, Systems Administrator
SIPphone is looking for a talented and enthusiastic software engineer, with expertise in Perl development, to join our team in San Diego. The focus of this position is to help build next-generation voice-over-ip applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
- 5-7+ years of overall experience
- 5+ Years Perl experience in an enterprise environment
- Extended use of common Perl modules, including GD, DBI and mod_perl
- Apache and SSL/TLS administration
- Ability to work and develop in a Linux environment
- Linux administration experience
- Mysql database development experience
- Experience with multi-threaded application design
- Experience with large scale real-time applications and large scale development projects
- Familiar with XML and XSLT
- Strong background with software development methodologies, object-oriented design, and web service standards
- Ability to coordination with team members and the ability to work with other teams to make sure proper standards are followed and also to insure reuse of existing architecture when appropriate
- Strong database modeling skills
- Client/server development experience
- Experience with TCP/IP network programming
- Knowledge of CVS, experience with Subversion a plus
- Familiarity with Gizmo Project or other VoIP applications
- Must have strong communication skills
Desired Skills
Experience with any or all of the following is ideal, but not required:
- Statistical Analysis experience
- Java development experience
- Erlang development experience
- Experience with Jabber and Jabber based IM clients
- Experience with SIP or XMPP protocols desired
- Mysql database administration skills
- Experience developing mobile application

SIPphone, Inc. does not post salary ranges in order to keep this information confidential. Our objective is to pay competitively and to meet or exceed the salary requirements for the right candidate.
