It should be free.

Your old dial tone from your mobile or landline phone is founded on fees, contracts and tolls. Providers use flat rate plans to hide these fees, but the result for most consumers is just higher prices.

SIPphone on the other hand, enables free calling worldwide for all SIP users. We also offer some of the most cost effective adapters on the market. You can download a softphone for free right off of our site, and start making calls on your pc without paying anything.

It has to be international.

Particularly for Americans, telecom companies focus on domestic calls. The minute you call outside your country you are slammed with pricey fees or complexity. In fact, I challenge anyone to post a link in our user forum to a page in AT&T's web site where they list their default international calling rates. I am not talking about one of their confusing, promotional international calling plans. Find the rate you pay by just picking up the phone at home and dialing.

Didn't find it? It is no wonder over 50% of SIPphone's calls are international.

It has to be open and standards-based.

From service specific hardware, annual contracts and closed networks, companies have tried to lock in their customers.

SIPphone takes another approach: Offer the most competitive, affordable and full featured dial tone in the industry, all completely standards-based. Our dial tone is free to any SIP hardware manufacturer or softphone developer in the world with our Plug-N-Dial standard.

Choice is good.

As I saw in my previous company, MP3.com, standards-based platforms beat out proprietary or closed systems. Standards enable competition. The entire industry moves ahead with advancements from hundreds of companies and even individuals.

To help drive choice in the industry, we launched SIPhardware.com and SIPsoftware.com last week for consumers.

We are working on exciting new additions and upgrades to our dial tone. We constantly strive to increase the reliability, speed and power of your phone, while keeping your costs as low as possible. Does your dial tone do that?

We hope you like the sites and we encourage you to participate in our customer forum.
